WEDDING.

GOODING—BIRCH LEY. The wedding was solemnised at All Saints’ ( httrcli this afternoon by the Rev.W. Kancourt. of Miss Alma Josephine, daughter of Mrs and the late Mr J. J. Birchley, of 41 Lombard street, Palmerston North, and Mr Wallace Royal Gooding, of Otaki. youngest son of Mr ('. Gooding and the late Mrs Gooding. The bride, who was given uway by her brother, Mr Aliturice Uirthley, looked charming in cream I,roc-lie ivy satin draped at the side, beaded. and caught witli buckle sequins. She wore the customary veil with orange blossom* and carried u bouquet of pale pink roses with maidenhair and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids were Alisses Muriel Birc-hley, sister pf the bride, and Mona Wall, of Wellington, cousin of the In-ido. The former wore apricot channelise' anil the latter the same material in lavender, while Doth carried bouquets to match. Mr S. A. Gooding, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, a id Air S. Burne, of Kimbolton, nephew of the bride, groomsman. Amongst those present were Miss E. Gooding. sister of tile bride, who was gowned in almond green crepe-tle-ehino with Oriental trimmings, and Mrs Burne, sister of the bride, who wore navy blue crepe-de-chine and a fawn hat. Following the ceremony a reception was hold when the usual toasts were honoured. The bride’s mother wore black crcpo-dn-chine and a black panne velvet hat. and carried a posy of heliotrope anemones. The bridegroomT gifts to the bridesmaids were a gold bungle and a pearl star brooch respectively. • Tito happy couple, who later left for the north, were the recipients of many valuable presents, including seevral cheques. ’1 he bridegroom s gift to the bride was a handsome fur coal.
