CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 25. Tho Farmers’ Union eontinueu its conference this morning. It was resolved that the Government be recommended to pass a bill as proposed by the Agricultural Department, provided that provision is inserted to ensure that a purchaser is supplied on analysis a certificate with a statement of the origin of materials as set out in lection 3, sub-section 3, paragraph c of tie proposed bill. A committee was appointed to give evidence before the committee of the House.
A motion was carried urging the Government to introduce legislation giving nower for tho setting up of boards for the eradication and prevention of the spread of blackberry.
It was resolved that the Coverninent be asked to pass a bill protecting farmers against impure and sterile seeds, and that the Agricultural Implement and Sales Act should lie repealed. Professor Reran, of Victoria College, outlined the course of agricultural education proposed to bo given at Victoria College.
Dr. Rcakes, of the Department of Agri-’ culture, and Air Cockayne, director "of the fields division, outlined the assistance and information being given by tho department to farmers in connection with various agricultural operations.
