R. r OS3 ot Napier, and occupied by Mr Simon Kaffol, fancy goods dealer, which was burnt to the ground, anti also the adjoinuig shop and tea rooms (Mr Jebbs) owned by Mr J. Mayo. Both were very oK< Wooden buildings on the Marino Parade. A concrete block of shops adjoining prevented the fire spreading further eJm in : luan . ce of Raffol’s 'stock was £ 000 and it is estimated that the loss was iiuoo above tlie insurance. Mr Mavo’s insurance was £6OO. Air Jebbs’ stock was uninsured, but it was mostly saved.
