1924 ALL BLACKS.
SATURDAY’S GAME.
All routes will lead to th? Showgrounds On Saturday when the All Blacks, the giants of New Zealand’s Rugby world, will be the centre of attraction. The visitors will be opposed by the elec 1 , of Manawatu and Horowhenua combined, while tho programme will he made of still greater interest by the inclusion of a second contest between Manawatu and r le Kawau. The All Blacks, who arrived in Auckland to-day from Sydney, will play the Northern province to-morrow, and, tak ng the night express, wilt arrive in l’almerston North on Thursday morning. The members of tho combined team tire also being assembled, several members of the Horowhenua ipiotu having arrived yesterday. The 22 players from whom the comoined team will be selected have been practising under the direction of Mr J. Ryan, a former All Black und captain of the King's Cup team, and with the addition of a. further eight players will play an eliminating trial match to-morrow. Thus no stone is being left unturned by the local authorities to put a
team in the liold which will endeavour to emulate the 1921 combination which put up such a creditable fight against the Springboks in the memorable game at the Showgrounds. .Applications for seats have been received furorn enthusiasts resident in all quarters of the North Island and already the seats reserved outnumber the applications for tho Springbok match by a thousand.
