MOROCCAN TROUBLE
SPANIARDS EXCITED.. DICTATOR'S POSITION SHAKEN. , By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received June 26, 9.35 a.m. LONDON, Juno 25. The Daily Express's Barcelona correspondent says that public opinion is highly excited over the Moroccan trouble. The position of tho dictator, Genaral Rivera, has been shaken and there are rumours of General Welyor becoming Premier as a section of the army is protesting strongly against the decision to evacuate the advanced posts in Morocco, and Colonel Frianco, officer commanding the foreign legion, refuses to leave the positions and threatens to march on Melilla with the troops. When General Sanjuju was ordered to arrest Frianco nothing was done, but meanwhile General Beneguer is being tried for responsibility for the defeats of the Spanish troops in Morocco in 1921. The charges against General Navarro have been withdrawn. The public is convinced that if tho Moroccan operations continue the Spanish Treasury will be exhausted. —A. and N.Z. cable.
