Mrs Audrey Tonks, a recent arrival from New Zealand, was found dead in her flat at Coogee (Sydney) with her head inside a stove with the gas turned on. It is also believed she had previously taken a strong dose of poison. She left a letter stating that her loneliness was unbearable. It has been ascertained that her husband went away last Thursday while Mrs Tonks was out and left a note saying: "Will return in two days," but did not, and deceased was much depressed.
