At the nieetiitg of the Kairangrt Couiity Couhtii to-day, the engineer, on being asked for a sample of the borer-ififested timber from the bridge at Awahiiri, stated that he had obtained a sample, but his wife had burnt it, as site was afraid of 3*W borer attacking the house. He Woiud, however, obtain another.
