MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE.

COMMENTS BY THE JUDGE. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 6. At the criminal sessioii* of the Supreme Court to-day Mr J ustbo Stringer reviewed tin charge of manslaughter against Jolm Andrew Fox arising from the death of a policeman named Todd, who with the accused and another man was returning from a dance to Onehunga, when the car collided with a Chinaman s cart. His Honour said that the evidence would show that Fox was driving in a reckless fashion. The Chinaman's cart was on its proper side of the road. Evidently they had driven to Papakura to get a supply of liquor and were returning to Auckland early in the morning and seemed to have made beasts of themselves. U'here would be little difficulty in establishing a prime facie case against Fox.
