SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.

(Per Press Association.) DARGAVILLE, May 6. The Mayor (Mr Hornblow) presided over a public meeting held fast night to make arrangements for the Australian and New Zealand sculling championship to be rowed on the Northern Wair'oa river, lor which two contestants, McDevitt and Ceruiti, are already training on the river. Amongst the other arrangements made it was decided that the course be 31 miles and the stake £SOO. The date of the race was not finally decided upon, but it is expected that it will be at the end of the first week in June. It is claimed that the event will be the biggest tiling of its kind ever held in the Dominion. Many entries have been received from prominent scullers in Australia and New Zealand.
