Lewis Bond, accountant for the Federal Trade Commission, testified at the Oil Committee’s inquiry that among the speculators in Doheny’s and Sinclair’s oil stocks were Daugherty, C. B. Slemp (secretary to President Coolidge) and Senators Curtis and Elkins. Daugherty’s account was on under the fictitious name of W. W. Spaeth.—-A. and N.Z. cable.
