FOOD AND FLOWER FAIR.
ST. ANDREW’S CHURCH FUNCTION.
With the object of lessening the church debt, the ladies of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church conducted a food and flower fair in the Zealandia Hall this afternoon, when there was an excellent attendance of tlie. public. The function was opened shortly after one o’clock by Mr J. A. Nash, M.P. who, in the course of his remarks, wished the promoters every success. The hall presented an animated appearance and the various stulls all recorded good business. Games and competitions, under the direction of the members of the deacons’ court, proved very popular, while an excellent afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Aitchison, Kensington, Marshall, Meßao and White and Miss Astbury. The various stall-holders were as follow: Cake, Mesdames Franklin, Bctt, Macaulay and Boyd; flower Misses Nairn and Wyber; produce, Mesdames J. C. Young. Robertson, Murray and Scarr; sweets and jee creams, Mrs McLeod and Misses Macaulay; jumble and books, Mesdames Tiley Doull, Wyber and Carville; meat, Mrs ’Mowatt and Messrs Balsillie, Chapman and Mathieson. The function will be concluded to-mght.
