SIR JAMES ALLEN’S HOPES.
WISH TO SEE DOMINION FREE. Received March 19, 10 a.m. LONDON, March 18. ■ Dr. Spahlinger, accimpanied by Sir James Allen, interviewed Sir George Newman, chief medical officer to the Ministry of Health, ai d discussed suggestions whereby the Government might help Dr. Spahlinger financially to ensure the continued production of his serum. Dr. Spahli tiger lias not yet accepted the proposals, but Sir James Allen is hopeful that a satisfactory arrangement would be reached. “When I was Defence Minister,” said Sir James Allen, “I saw so much tuberculosis that 1 d< cided to help along any possible cu -e. I -am anxious that New Zealand should be freed of tuberculosis. If could also tell the world that its cattle were free of tuberculosis the effect upon the dairy industry would be trenendous.”—Sydney Sun cable.
