FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
LOYAL MANAWATU LODGE
The half-yearly meeting of the Loyal Mnnawatu ' Lodge, M I'., 1.0.0. F., was held on Thursday evening. N.G. Bio. 0. J. Rodgers presided over an excellent attendance of members. A vote of condolence was accorded the relatives of the late Bro. E, A. Eade. An invitation was received from the Loyal Dannerirke Lodge to its anniversary ball on July 25th. It was decided to hold over the matter of attending till next meeting, when the invitation from Loyal Antipodean Lodge, Wellington, for a fraternal \Lit will also he discussed. The election of officers for the ensuing hidf-year resulted as follows:-!.P. N.G. Bro. 0. J. Lodgers; N.G., Bio. J. Fabrin; U.S., Bro. it. Lock; L.S., Bro. L. W. Rees; V.G., Bvo. R. C Webb: R.S., Sister Walton; L.S.. Bro. C IL Mercer; Warden, Bro. 11. Facer,; 1.0., Bro. C. Olsen; 0.0., Bro. U. T. Uilks; P.G.; custodian. Sister [Jouten; Christmas tree committee conveners, Sisters Kear and Gillies. The newly-elected officers were duly installed by the 1.P.N.G., Bro. K. Clark, assisted bv i'.C's. Pros. R, S. Watson, L. G. Horn and J. L. Walton. It was decided to place P.G. Bro. !•'. Clark's name on the Merit Board and to present him with a framed past officer's emblem. It was also decided to present a framed member's emblem to X,O. Bro. J. Fabrin. Certificates were passed enabling the retiring officers to lake their respective decree-. Reference was made to the assistance given the lodge by V.G. Bro. L. A. Siiarman. who had been transferred to Wellington.
