THE BRITISH QUESTIONS.
AWAITING FRENCH ANSWER,
INTELIIGIBLE STATEMENT WANTED.
By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Juno 23, 8.45 a.m. LONDON, June 22. Tho Nation says: "Tho delay in tho reply to the British questionaire is by no means wholly due to the Belgian crisis, but the questionaire is so comprehensive and searching that tho French Government might reasonably demand considerable time to prepare an answer. The British demand is admirably designed to secure that M. Poincaro's cards should be placed face tip on the table. Unless questions are answered by studied evasions, we should have a complete and intelligible statement as to what France is really aiming at."—A. and N.Z. cable.
