Afucti sympathy will be felt ior Air and Airs Fleming Laurenson, formerly of Palmerston North and now of Wellington, in the death of their son Karl, which occurred at Waipukuran Sanatorium yesterday afternoon after a long illness, the result of wounds received in tho late war. ihe late Air Laurenson joined up with dm Third Reinforcements and went away with the Fifths. As a musician and entertainer, his services were in demand on all occasions. He was wounded at Suvla Bay, but later went to France, where lie assisted to organise an entertainment called “Follow the Sergeant,” which was performed in the hospitals in England and at tho various camps. On returning to New Zealand in 1919, Air Laurenson married Miss Gwen Baxter, daughter of Air and Mrs W. Baxtqr. of Russell street, Palmerston North, and joined the staff of the Paramount Picture Service, and prior to his late illness occupied the post of assistant manager.
