Kuku Maiden, 6 furlongs.--*-Ecuador, 9.0, 1; Tinohari, 8.12, 2; Mountain Signal, 8.9, 3. Scratched: Cushartand Beep «’ Dav. Won by a nock, Time, 1.22 1-5,

Hack Handicap, 6 furlongs,—Treadwell, 7,5, I; The Emperor, 7.3, 2; Ihaputoa, 7.0, 3. Won by a length, a neck between second and third. Scratched; Moonstruck. Time, 1.23 3-5.

The A.R.C. winter meeting opened ai Ellerslie with a large attendance despite the showery weather. The course is heavy. Results:—

Jervois Handicap, 7 furlongs—First Division: Arch Laddie, 8.2, .1; Doleful Ditty. 8.9, 2 ; Peddle, 8.4, 3. Scratched: Manga where, King Neva, Auriferous, Senlac, Electrode and Proxy Form. Won by a length, two and a half lengths between second and third. Time, 1.33 2-5. Greenlane Steeplechase, about 25 miles.—No Bother, 10.0, 1; Vociferate, 10.5, 2; Silverton, 10,5, 3. Scratched: Sister Olga. Won by six lengths, ten lengths between second and third Time, 5.21 3-5.
