END OF BELGIAN STRIKE.
DRAMATIC CONCLUSION
DEMONSTRATION OF LOYALTY
By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright, Received June 2, 8.50 a.m. BRUSSELS, Juno 1. The railway and postal strike ended in a most dramatic fashion. It was reported yesterday that the strikers had received a cheque for 150,000 marks from the Reichsbank, which produced a stormy scene in the Senate, the Minister of Justice demanding the suspension of the parliamentary indemnity in connection with two senators who wore leaders of the railwayman's syndicate. The latter stoutly denied any knowledge of the receipt from Berlin. The report produced such an unfavourable impression that the railway syndicate met and decided to resume work immediately in order to convince the public of their loyalty. The postal and telegraph workers are also resuming.—A. and N.Z. cable.
