The various club competitions have now been concluded with the exception of that for Mr Penman's trophy ill which Andrews and McDonald meet in the final.

Jn tlio club championship, Thompson came through to the final without 11 loss, Andrew:) also came through without a loss by beating McLuchlan, 6-0. 6—4. Andrews won both his matches against Thompson very easily, the latter only scoring four games in as many sets. Andrews, with his elder brother, won the handicap . doubles from McLuchlan and Gardner, beating them 60-47. He had already won the mixed doubles handicap with Miss 0. Haggitt, so that he has only to win Vli* Penman's trophy to make a clean sweep of all the club prizes for the season, with the exception of the ladies' championship, lie would have won that too it he hud been able 10 compete. Not content with these local triumphs, he cleared the board of all the champion l ships at Napier at their Master tournament, and won the singles handicap from the owe lifteen mark, and retired undefeated in the mixed handicap doubles. The runner-up for the chumpionship at Napier, Campbell, was a Palmerston player till two years ago. lie did very well to beat the well-known player Captain Walker, in the semi-final,
