STUDENTS' "RAG."
"TOOT-AN'-COME-IN'S" TOMB. LONDON, March 7. An elaborate "rag" of Cambridge undergraduates re-enacted the Luxor discovery with "The Opening of Toot-an'-come-in's Tomb" in Market Square. Native police and infantry, high State dignitaries, and finally Cleopatra, with Mr Howard Carter and the Earl of Carnarvon, arrived at the "tomb." A special feature was a party of American journalists and a conspicuous relic was the "original" Ford chassis.
The mummy proved to be a wellknown wooden Highlander abducted from n London shop front. The Cambridge students planned to provide a climax to the proceedings by kidnapping Mr Asquith. They arranged to meet him at the station _ with a motor car, and drive him into the country, where a "banquet" had been prepared. A bogus telegram reached the organisers of Mr Asquith's meeting, but they scented a hoax, and assembled at the station v?ith his supporters, who, aided by railway officials, shepherded Mr Asquith into his proper car.
