FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
? The Loyal Manawatu Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., met last night, when there was 'an exceptionally good attendance of members. Bro. 0. J. Rodgers, N.G., presided. One new member was initiated into the Order. Congratulations were extended to the Friendly Societies’ Dispensary Hoard upon the important purchase of freehold property made by it. A social committee, comprising Sistjers Gillies, Walton, Imrie, Drummond. (2), Fabrin (2), and Bros. Rodgers, Smith, Facer, Fabrin, Sharraan, Chnstainsen, Lock, Dilks, Mercer, Richmond and Watson was appointed. The committee will meet on Friday evening next, when a lodge of instruction will be held. A musical programme was rendered, Sister Fabrin, Bros. Dilks, Smith and Bar contributing items, . while Sister Fabrin (piano) and Bro. Scroggs (violin) accompanied the vocalists. A welcome was tendered P.G. Bro. J. Brackenbridge on his return to the lodge. At the close of the meeting a light supper was partaken of.
