FRANCE’S BIG GUN.
LARGEST EVER CAST.
SEVENTY FEET IN LENGTH.
By Electric Telegraph—Copyright .Received January 22, 9.40 a.m, PARIS, Jan. 20. The largest gun ever cast in Franco has been completed at the lluelle arsenal. It is 70 feet long and weighs, with its carriage, 230 tons. The gun, which will he used for coastal defence, is expected to hurl a 420 kilogramme shell over 90 kilometres.—A. and N.Z. cable.
