The annual general meeting of the New | Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association was j held last evening at the breeders' Club ! rooms. Showgrounds, l'almerston North. 'lhe prcsidi nl (Mr .1. K. Anderson) was in the chair and over 30 members were in attendance. In submitting ihe eighth annual report ihe president congratulated members on the very satisfactory progress maintained during the past year. Since last annual meeting three new branches have been formed, viz., Franklin, Auckland City and Taranaki. G()od work lias resulted from Ihe branches previously formed. On the mot ion of Mr Bond (Rangiotu) Mr GrAit, of Woodville, was appointed to give an official demonstration on Ihe milking Shorthorn ai the Wairarapa and Easl Coast Show. , Officers for the ensuing vear were elected as follow:—President, Mr James Parkinson (Opotiki); vice-presidents, Messrs I>. Buick (Palmerslon North) and S. Morgan (Woodville): members of the executive (two vacancies), Messrs E. I.;:w (YVhakatane) and A. Tocker (Featherston); treasurer, Mr J: Ivearsey (Longburn). Before retiring from office the president, on behalf of the members of the council, pve-enicd Mr A. \\. Green, of Rimkura, with an illuminated address as a slight token of the many years' service he had put m on behalf of (lie association as president and as a member of the council.
