Buehler as headmaster of the institution, succeeding Mr '!■'. Kairbrorher, who has resigned. Mr Buehler is at present headmaster of (he West End School, and was formerly head teacher at Ashhurst. The committee decided to write to Mi' Buehler congratulating him on the appointment and extending to.him their co-opera-tion. Alter having been connected villi tho Terrace End School Committee for 16 years, and having been secretary for a considerable period, Mr A. J. Yortt tendered his resignation last night on account of his impending removal to Dannevirke. The chairman (Mr Stiles) expressed the deep regret of the committee at losing Mr Yortt, who had worked so well for the school. He voiced their best wishes lo Mr and Mrs Yortt in the new venture that was taking them away hum Palmerston North. 'the resignation was accepted with regret after other members had spoken in appreciative terms of Mr Yortt, at the same time paying a tribute to the work performed in the school's interest by Mrs Yortt. The death occurred al Palmerston North on Monday of Mr John Lango, an old and well-known resident of Weraroa. Mr Langc went to the Levin district from Marlborough in the early days of settlement there, and wa.l one of the first employees al the Central Development Farm, over 20 years ago, and remained there till six months ago, when ill-health forced him to lake medical treatnieiii ill Palmerston North. However, he was a sufferer from a serious affliction, and death eventually ensued. The deceased was a man who was greatly respected by the farm management throughout his long connection with the institution, and his genial disposition gained him the goodwill of all he came in contact with. Conscientious and honourable lo a degree, there ate many in the district who (says the Levin Chronicle) will regret his passing. The late Mr Lange was a single man, ami resided in Weraroa with his mother, who survives him. Mrs A. 11. Crcsswell, of Foxton Line, is a sister of deceased.
