MANDATED TERRITORIES.
Received Alav 16. 11.40 a.m. AIELBOUKNE, May 16. Ordinances have been approved empowering the Governor-General to sell the land hUfee simple of (lie mandated territories, previously obtainable only on lease. Provision bus also been made for rights to search for gold, silver and other minerals, but not shale, petroleum or mineral oils, which are exclusively reserved for the Government. Tho timber ordinance provides for issuing bet uses for an area of SCOO acres foi 15 years, and reserves to the Grown absolutely the right to acquire interests on lands owned bv natives. —Press Assn.
