POWER FROM MANGAHAO.
HOARDS TO SEEK PRICE FROM MIX ESTER.
Several delegates in, attendance at. today's conference of power boards at Palmerston North expressed the opinion that it behoved the Government to give power boards a definite idea as to what price was to be charged for power front Mangahao. Mr Monk (llorowhenua) in speaking on the matter, said that the point had been raised as to whether a fiat rate should he charged by the Government to power hoards thijbugnouf the Dominion. Personally, not Having given the question consideration, he was not prepared to pass an opinion thereon. It was only fair, however, that the Government should at least make a statement as to what the maximum price of power supplied from .Mangahao was to lie. It, placed power hoards in an invidious position if they wont to the ratepayers for a sum of money without giving them any idea as to ‘what it, was going to cost l hem.
The conference decided to ask the Minister to make a pronouncement on the subject.
