QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT, BRISBANE, August 10. In the Assembly Mr Fowles gave notice of motion that the Government does not possess the confidence of the electors hoP,,|iso of its incapacity to conduct business. The House thereupon adjourned—Press Association. QUEENSLAND PROPOSALS, Received August 11, 8 a.m. BRISBANE. August 10. The Governor’s speech at the opening of Parliament was largely colourless. The Government’s proposals include insurance against unemployment, widening the scope of the Workers’ Compensation Act, extension of the railways to open- tip the western and north-western areas, and abolition of capital punishment. An early local loan of £3,000,000 is foreshadowed.—Press Association.
