THE AMERICA CUP.
| PREPARING FOR THE GREAT RACE. Received July 12, 9.25 a.m. NEW YORK, July 11. The first heat of the America. Cup race will bo sailed on July 15th, the second on July 17th, and the third on July 20th. The Resolute and Shamrock IV. tiro both being measured for the purpose of determining what time allowance shall be made for tho smaller vessel. It is unofficially estimated that the Resolute will obtain six awl a half minutes allowance.
Sir Thomas Lipton lias made the following statement: "1 might say the challenger is the magic key wherewith I hope to achieve my lifelong ambition of winning the America Cup. Only the race will tell whether it is the right key, but whether I win or lose, my admiration for tho American people will remain, as I never forget their many kindnesses to me."—(A. and N.Z. cable.)
