STOCK MARKET,
The Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-op. .Association, Ltd. (stock department), Pahiatua, report on their usual weekly stile held in the Farmers’ Yards Pahiatua, on Tuesday 6th inst., as follows. Wo 'yarded about 800 “beep and 70 head of cattle. The general tone of the sale throughout showed a derided improvement, competition for slice]) being exceptionally keen, and the demand fur cattle was much more brisk than has been the ease for some ' time past. Wo quote the following sales:—lo4 2-th wethers 30s Od; 48 f. and f;"Awes 29s Id ; 78 m.a. cues’2ss 8(1; 70 empty ewes 25s 4d ; 27 m.s. hoggets 24s Gd; 25 b.f. hoggets 20s; 10 cull ewes 13s 3d; 10 Hereford heifers in call £6 10s; 8 empty cows £6 3s; 9 do, £5 10s; 17 do. £5 8s; 5 do. £5; 1 Jersey heifer £3; 3 do. £6. Association Ltd., (stock department) Pahiatua. report on the undermentioned clearing sales as follow;.At Marima on Friday 2nd inst. wo held g very successful clearing sale on account of Mr A. I), Bryant. We were successful in clearing the whole of the entry under the hammer at satisfactory prices. The following are some of tho prices realised;— 4 and 6-th, wethers 29s 6d ; 4; and 6-th to f.m. ewes in lamb 26s 10d; do. 225; m.s, 2-ths 255; m.s. hoggets 17s; 2iyr. steers 455; bull £4, 4 dairy cows £ls 15s, £ll, £8 10s< £5 15s; 3 wcaner heifers £3; yearling heifers £3; 2 yearling steers 225. Farm implements:, sundries and household furniture sold well up to late clearing sales’ reports. At Kohinui on Saturday, 3rd inst.j 1 wo held a most successful clearing stile on account of Mr W. N. Miller, when wo were successful in disposing of the bulk of the offering. There was a good attendance of the public and competition for dairy stock was keen. Following are some of tho prices:—Dairy cows from £23 10s, £2l 15s, £2O 15s, £2O" 10s, £l9 10s. £lB 17s Od, £lB ss, £lB, £l7 ICs, £l7. £l6 ss. £l6 10s. £l4, £l3 2s :6d, £ls. £l2 15s. £l2 10.,, ' £l2, down to £6 10s. The herd of 49 dairy cows averaged the satisfactory price ot £l2 18s.
