CUBA STREET METHODIST BAZAAR.

A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. ' The bazaar in aid of Cuba Street Methodist Church torminated last evening after a most successful run. From start to finish everything moved smoothly and " steadily towards whatrproved a very satisfactory result. All worked with a will, and did their* duty most ably, and the Rev. A. -Ashcroft and his staff «f workers deserve- high compliment for tho way they organised the effort and carried it to such a fine conclusion. Although somewhat over £l7O was taken, and as the expenses were by no means large, a good sum will bo handed over to the treasurers of tho building fund. Up to a late hour last night the stall holders wero busy selling their wares, and at the termination next to nothing was left over. From time to time these and similar efforts will be held until tho congregation of (Tuba Street Methodist Church has a modern and comfortublo church as the centre of its many activities. Various competition. l ?, including , nail driving, wool winding, and shooting were keenly contested, and helped in no small measure to make the function the succcss.it proved. The meat department proved highly successful and remunerative. The variety stall and tea rooms were also responsible for a large portion A*f thb_ takings. As well as those previously mentioned as doing valuable service the sterling work of the, choir and Ladies' Guild is also worthy of praiso.

BAPTIST SALE OF WORK.

A sum of over £32, which is to be devoted to Foreign Missions, was realised as the result of the salo < f work, inaugurated by the numbers of. the Baptist Young Women's Bible Class, and held in the hall attached to tho Congregational Church yesterday afternoon and evening-. Misses Inkpen, Cotton and Shaw, and IVlr Inkprn contributed to a musical programme during the evening's proceedings. '
