SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.

The 42nd anniversary of fit. Paul's Methodist Sunday School was celebrated at special services hold yesterday. The church was beautifully dlecoratod for the occasion by Mrs Boys and the ladies’ class, and the preacher for the day was the Rev. H. Daniel), of Woodvillc, who gave three eloquent and thoughtful addresses, iI is subject for the afternoon, was “Sowing Seed." At the evening service the church was packed, seats being placed in the aisles, while numbers were, turned away. A special feature of the services was the singing of the children, who were arranged on a gallery. They were assisted by the choir and orchestra, under the conductorship of Mr A. Treguvtha. Mrs Hills (organ), Miss. Bennett (piano) and Messrs Plodder, Farmer, Merchant, Piper, Murgatroyd, Andrews, Byeroft. and Billmuu rendered invaluable aid to the singing. In the morning the anthem “Rock of Ages,” in which Miss Rumble took the solo, was sung. Tho evening anthem was “Gift of Music,” the soloists being Misses Hodges and Ainslcy 'Sinclair. The offertories, which were, a record, arc to be devoted to Sunday Bcluool purposes. The anniversary celebrations will ( conclude on Wednesday next, in the Empire Hall, when a. very attractive programme of musical items will 'be rendered by t lio ■scholars of the school. Tim prizes won during the vctir will also be dbuTouted ami Clipper will be served at the conclusion of ! the concert. _____
