LLOYD GEORGE VINDICATED.

(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Peb Pbess Association.) Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. LONDON, Oct. 16. In the High Court ihe libel action by Lloyd George against ihe Exchange Telegraph Company, the Westminster Gazette, and the Star was settled by the defendants apologising and paying costs. The case arose out of the production of a paragraph issued by the Exchange Company alleging that Lloyd George left Downing- street for the country when it was known that raiders were approaching. The plaintiff contended that this implied personal cowardice, and explained that he left London with the Military and Naval loaderg to attend a conference with the French War Office chiefs. All defendants disclaimed that any imputation was intended.
