The evidence at tho inquiry into the. recent fire on a steamer lying at Miller's Point indicated incendiarism, and, when Harold Batten, formerly employed by the Union Company, appeared at the Court, to-day charged 'with forging a seaman's discharge certificate, the police stated that a, quantity of gelignite, dynamite, detonators, and fuses, as well as correspondence relating to explosions on ship*, were found in his possessions.
