(From Our Own Correspondent.) On Wednesday the Oddfellows held their annua 1 dai.oe, which was very successful. Music was* supplied by Mr Kirk, and the duties of M.C. was ably carried out by Bio. .). Kennedy. Visitori wore present from the Fcilding and Palmcrscon Lodges. During the past month a guessing competition of the name of a doll, donated bv Alma Duthie in aid of the Sick and Wounded Fund, was held. It closed on the 25th. The correct name was Hilda, and three choso the right name. On a draw Miss 11. Gray, of Fcilding, was the successful winner

On Fiiuny tlu> annual mooting of the Tennis Club was held in the library room. Mr J W. Sinclair presided. The balancesheet showed a credit balance of £2 14s and it decided to officially open the courts on September 8, when the trophies for the past season will be presented. On Saturday the Pifle Club fired a match against, the Raumai Club on the local range, seven men usidc, seven shots at 300 and 500 yard.-?. During the past week the annual Christian Endeavour rally took place at the Methodist Church. The Rev. J. H. Haslam presided. Visitors were present from Palmerston, Ashhurst and Feilding. Song?, addresses and anthems by the choir; 1 were given before a large gathering. After the close, supper Was provided by the Bijnnythor.M- members.
