During the past month a guessing competition of the name of a doll, donated bv Alma Duthie in aid of the Sick and Wounded Fund, was held. It closed on the 25th. On Fiiuny tlu> annual mooting of the Tennis Club was held in the library room. Mr J W. Sinclair presided. The balancesheet showed a credit balance of £2 14s and it decided to officially open the courts on September 8, when the trophies for the past season will be presented. During the past week the annual Christian Endeavour rally took place at the Methodist Church. The Rev. J. H. Haslam presided. Visitors were present from Palmerston, Ashhurst and Feilding. Song?, addresses and anthems by the choir; 1 were given before a large gathering. After the close, supper Was provided by the Bijnnythor.M- members.
