FINALS OF N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. (Pll FUW AMOCMTWH.-t WANGANUI, July 24. The New Zealand amateur championships concluded to-night. Results: Bantams.—Venns (Wanganui) beat Conway (Waikato) on points; J. Harrhy (Otago) beat H. Gunn (Timaru) on points. In the final Harrhy beat Venns on points after a capital bout very cleanly contested. Feathers.—J. W. Oliver (Wellington) beat J. Newsome (Taumarunui) on points. Heavies.—A. Goodwin beat N. Bennetts (Auckland) on points, and in the final Goodman beat Oliver on points in a splendidly contested bout. Lights.—J. Mussen (Greymouth) beat G. Thomas (Wanganui) on points; James (Auckland) knocked out Stewart (Timaru) in the seoond round. In the final James beat Mussen on points. . Mussen lost the use of his right arm at tho commencement of the last round, and James won easily on points. Welters.—L. Wills (Taranaki) beat Kelland (Taumarunui) on points; Heeney (Gisborne) beat Hunter (Wellington) with a knock-out in the first round. In the final Heeney beat Wills on points by a narrow margin after a splendid fight. Middles. —A. Wood (Invercargill) beat W. Dickson (Taumarunui) on points; P. Manning (Christchurch) beat E. Tyson (Otago) on points. In the final Wood beat Manning. The Christchurch man was down several times in the last round, and the referee stopped the fight a minute to time.
