BIBLE IN SCHOOLS BILL.

PETITIONS FOR AND AGAINST. (By Tuqbaph.) (Fbom Oub Pablumintabx Ripobtib.) WELLINGTON, July 24. Further petitions against the Bible-in-Schoola Referendum Bill containing a total of 913 signatures were presented to the House to-day by Messrs R. F. Bollard (Eden), T. W. Rhodes (Thames), Oaigie (Timaru), Mac Donald (Bay of Plenty), Wilford (Hutt), Poland (Ohinemuri). Brown (Napier) and Campbell (Hawke's Bay). Petitions in favour of the Bill containing 1040 signatures have been presented by Mr Buick (Palmerston). The total number of the signatures to the petitions presented to date are as follows:—For the Bill, 1040; against the Bill, 59,256.
