UNREGISTERED BARMAIDS.

POLICE TAKE ACTION. (Pa Pun Amociatiob.) AUCKLAND, July 25. As a result of the Appeal Court decision the police intend to take immediate action against hotel licensees who continue to employ unregistered barmaids It is estimated that there are between thirty and forty unregistered barmaids employed in private bars in the twenty Auckland hotels. A meeting of the Auckland Licensed Victuallers' Association passed a resolution unanimously urging the L.V.A. of New Zealand to seek a decision of the Privy Council, as the importance of the issue involved warrants such a stand being taken to establish definitely the right or wrong of the Appeal Court's judgment.
