NEW PLYMOUTH WANTS BETTER SHIPPING SERVICE.
(PIH PIUWP APPOCIATIOS.) NEW PLYMOUTH, April 2. To-day a large and influential deputation representing the Chamber <>l Commerce, Harbour Board and the local manager of the Cnion Company with the resolutions of a con* ferenco of those bodies held recently regarding the inadequate shipping «t----vice accorded Now Plymouth from southern ports. The deputation asked for a regular weekly service from the South by two boats of the Corinna type, and pointed out that the Flora and Taviuiri wore inadequate and irregular. It asked that the general manager of the Company interview the deputation at Now Plymouth. The genera] manager wired the local manager that he can meet the deputation on Tuesday next at Wellington.
