(From On; Own Correspondent.) The open Brethren held a tea meeting ami prize giving in the Town Hall oil Wednesday. Every pupil attending the Sunday school received a prize. A great improvement is noticed in the playing of our br.ss band. Conductor Curreen has now resumed his duties. Several new members have joined, and the band is making good pr egress. Miss McMurray. of Palmerston. has taken up he;- duties at the local school, and Miss K. Piercy has taken charge of the YYiniata school, near Tnihape The memb'-is of the Church of Kngl.y.d Ladies' Guild are very busy. and. judging by the quantity ;'f orders ih«y ;:iv r.-coiv-ing, they will be fully engaged through the winter months.
