JBally) on Friday and Saturday, and it ii> understood that a satisfactory agreement has been arrived at. The council k now awaiting the decision of the company and the Minors' Union in order to have tho mat tor sent to the Court for ratification. The state mines' dispute will he taken to-morrow. It is anticipated thai. inside the course of a week or two. the whole coal-mining in- • dustry will be fixed up s ., f ar asi labour conditions are concerned tor a longer period than has been customarv on the Coast for many years past.
