Ten stucenfe arc to be continued in '.ha Theological College, and the following candidates are now received for training:—M ssiv \Y. T. Might G. T. Brown. C. li. Kendon. J. C. Laws. The Rev. 0. R. Foston and Mr J. R. Sullivan were received for circuit work. The. Rev. Haniiora Hingi (Maori missioner) was placed on lite superannuation list. The general report on church property was adopted. Sale* on certain properties wore ratified and donors of property were thanked. Permission was given to sell the Hokianga parsonage. The committee oji circuits rocomnicndcd division of the Taranaki street (Wellington) circuit, and attaching of Webb street Church to the Wellington Central Mission. The following recommendations by the committee appointed to consider the question of additional preachers were adopted:—The application of Auckland West lor an additional preacher bo granted. Franklin —That we strongly recomfncnd the appointment of a probationer to resiuc at Waiutu. Te Awamut u —That a Home Mission Ijo raised to tho circuit with a married minister. East Egmont—Xo recommendation to make. As to Saddlebag Mission, Gisbornc. that a probationer be appointed with a suitable grant. Northern Wniroa—That a homo missionary be appointed. The rest of the matters be reported on another day. Twenty-three old ministers on the list, continue to be supernumeraries. The Revs. II- R. Dews-bury (Auckland), Joseph Blight (Auckland), and T. W. New bo id (Dunedin). were recommended for another year by their synods. Conference agreed to synod's recommendations that four ministers become supernumeraries. The four ministers,are : W. J. Williams, regarding whom a highly appreciative motion was unanimously adopted ; Revs. Griffin (Taranaki), W. S. Bowie (Northern Wairoa), and L. Hudson (lim-:"-u' ilv- last three for one year. The Rev. S. Griffith was granted a year's leave, with permission to visit England. The case of the Rev. Robt. 11. Wylie (Dunedin) was referred to a committee to report. The Rev. Arthur H. Scriven offered for foreign work, and was delegated to Papua. The offer of Aldwyn R. Gordpn, a student, was noted. The president reported the resignation of the Rev. T. 11. Lyon on account of illhealth, also the retirement of Norman Hyde, probationer, and James Carteris, student (known as the bov preacher). Theaction of the president in accepting the designations was confirmed. DUXEDIN. March 3. . At to-day's sitting of the Methodist Conference hearty "thanks were tendered to Rev. S. La wry, e?;-president for his charge to the candidates tor ordination delivered on the previous evening. Congratulations were tendered to Rev. William Lee and Rev. J. S. Rishworfh on the attainment of their ministerial jubilees. The report- of the Church Building and Loan fund was received. The report emphasised the need for increased capital. The capital stands at £10.209. Tho committee on circuits presented some additional findings. It was resolved that the Auckland and South Auckland districts hold their synods at, different dates to enable the Maori Mission superintendent to attend their respective sessions. The order in which the circuit are to fulfil their obligation i > take married ministers was fixed as follows Taihape, Invercargill (Leet street), Timaru (Bank street), Manaia, Dunedin (Dundas street) and Paoroa.
