We quote: Sheep.—Best hoggets 16s 5d to 18s 2d, mixed hoggets 13s 6d to 14s Bd, fat ewes 20s 3d, 21s 4d to 21s 6d. Cattle. —Yearling heifers £2 14s 6d, yearling; steers £2 Sh to £2 18s 6d, springing; cows £6 to £9 10s, backward takers £4 Is to £4 ss, Jersey bull £6.
LONDON QUOTATIONS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd.. have receiveil the following cablegram from their London house, under date 3rd instTallow.—We quote present spot values for the following descriptions: Fine mutton 38s per cu t, good beef 35s 6d per cwt, mixed 33s per cwt. The market is inactive Wheat.—We have sold an Australian cargo at 36s ljd c.i.f. The market, is firm but inactive owing to bad weather, and the United Kingdom ou»lo*>iv is uncertain. We quote per quarter c.i.f. New Zealand wheat: Long-berried 34?. short-berried 33s bd. Oats —Wo quote Clin - tons 21« 6d. sparrowbilU 21s. The outlook is discouraging.
