The death occurred in prison of Georgia Bill, a miner, and tho most notorious train robber and gaol-breaker in North America. For fifty years he robbed trains, and was frequently captured and imprisoned for life, but he managed to escape. Many years ago he took part in Australian rushes and was prominent, at Arniund and Koolgardie. and was afterwards engaged in the slave trade in Turkey. He was .lever guilty of violence, even when, he could, by such means, gain hi« freedom. He was known to have done many acts of benevolence, and was well educated. He was often reported de-id, and read his obituary notices in the newspapers with great amusement.
