ANTI MILITARIST'S DECLARATION

(Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, Sept. 1. Two youths, named Coombcs and Monckman, were ordered to military detention by Mr Rawson, S.M., at tho Hamilton Court to-day. Tho Magistrate tried to reason with Coombcs. but his efforts were useless. The latter stated that if fines continued to bo Mopped from his wages ho would cease work. Ho was determined not to drill, and if ever he was forced to enter battle ho would probably bo shot in tho back while lunning away.

Tho Magistrate said it was no use trying to reason with such pigheaded youths, and he would sco who would get tired first.
