AN UNUSUAL CASE.
MINOR AS A BAILEE. AUCKLAND. May 26. An unusual case was heard at tho Poke Court by Mr E. C. Cutten, S.M., vhen the police applied to have the reoghisance of John M. Judd (with rc:pect to J. 11. Thompson) cr.treated. : 'homp6on was arrested in Palmerston Mirth in March; and remanded on appeal to appear at Auckland. Judd, who vas a casual acquaintance, entered into : bail-bond tor £SO. Thompson appeard at the Court on the morning rewired, bufc'the case was stood down till he afternoon, when he had disappear,d, and had not been seen by tho police ince. Judd was not twenty-one years f age when he entered into the bond, nd has not yet reached that /as pointed out by tho police that one authority held that a minor could iot go bail, , The Magistrate, after conc-ideration. lecided to make no order in the case.
