MAIN TRUNK. SERVICE TO BEDUPLICATED. • • (Pjsh Peess Association.) AUCKLAND, April 22. The question of the ; duplication of the Main Trunk . express service between Auckland and Wellington was mentioned to Mr A. Myers (Minister for Railways),by a Herald reporter to-day. - Mr Myers said he had considered the matter, and the conclusion he arrived at was tnat tltc circumstances- would jti;4i[y duplication for the next summer seo,-on. Arrangements would be made for tin extra, express, to .commence on November l>.t, and continue to April 30th. A'terwards tho question of the permanent retention c? tile duplication of the service would be decided. Instructions had...ah;eady been given for the building of 25 additional cars'of. tho Main Trunk standard type, which would be completed not later than the.middle of October noxt. In view, however,. of increasing the traffic, especially in the Auckland district, Mr Myers said .it-had been decided to invite -tenders for: building 20 more carriages. • . ;
