MANAWATU DRAINAGE BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Manawatu Land Drainage Board was held this morning, and was attended by Messrs G. Best (chairman), 0. Collis, P. J. Small, D, Thomas, E, Wood and P. Garrity. •' CORRESPONDENCE.
■ From Ivairanga County Council, stating that the matter of the Mangaonc water course on Richardson's Line had been referred to the Councillors for Mangaone riding, with power to act. From Bell, Gully and Cooper, on behalf of W. B. Pea roe, calling on the Board to put in order the portion of Poole's drain between Mr G. Green's property and the Rangitane station.— It was decided to advise Mr Pearce that the drain had already been cleaned out this year, and would again be cleaned in the usual course.
From Thomas McEwen, contractor for No. 1 Line drain, applying for the balance of his contract money. —Referred to the engineer.
GENERAL. It was reported that rates outstanding amounted to £1436, and it was resolved to advertise a notice to ratepayers. Mr "Wood brought up the matter of the dangerous crossing on Richardson's Line, and stated that it was proposed by the Kairanga County Council to erect a bridge 'at' the spot.— Permission was given for.the work to be carried out.
Accounts amounting to £B3 15s Id were passed for payment. It was decided that, on account of November 2nd, being a Show date, the next meeting be held a week later.
