THE SEATLESS MINISTERS.

SIR JOHN FINDLAY AND WANGANUL (By Telegraph.). (Br Oun Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON. Sept 4. A visitor to Wellington states that offorta are being made by tho Government; party to gel; up requisitions in curtain districts asking Sir John Findlay and tho Hon. Thos. Mackenzie to contest certain seats, In ono case a letter was written by a prominent Government supporter pointing out tho advantages that would acoruo to the district in the matter of roads and bridges if the district wero represented in the House of Representatives by a member of the Cabinet. The visitor who saw this letter, although a Government supporter, expressed his disgust at the tactics that were being- adopted, _ From another source I learn that there is a very strong probability of Sir John Findlay contesting the Wanganui scat, now occupiod by Mr J. T. Hogan. Some timo ago there was a rumour that Mr Hogan _ would stand down in order to giyo Sir John Findlay a clear run for this seat, and now tho rumour is rovived on what appears to be excellent authority. There i s so far no indication as to which seat Mr Thos. Mackenzie will stand for. A Taranaki man tells me that ho'would havo a good chanco against Mr Pearce for tho Patca seat. The same authority, a Government supporter, tells mo that Mr. I-lino is regarded as safe for his present scat.
