George William Palmer, of biscuit manufacturing fame, his wife and Mr Alfred Palmer, have given £50,000 each to endow, a • University at Reading, in view of.an application'• for a charter as anindependent;-University.' Horn, now owner of the alleged Duchess of Gainsborough.picture, has arranged'an exhibition in a West End gallery to enable experts to compare it with Mr Pierpont Morgan's picture, which it is claimed is not genuine.
