ARRESTED FOR JEWEL ROBBERY.

"NOT KNOWN TO THE POLICE."

(Pee Peesr Association.) AUCKLAND, May 8. The arrest of Williams Rogers and Mrs Maud Rogers, charged with burglary, at Kohns' shop, Auckland, was made by the police at San Francisco, on the arrival of the steamer Manuka. The arrested persons are not known to tho police of Now Zealand under the names given. Tho fact that the San Francisco polico were able to furnish tho alias of the male suspect leads to tho surmise that the couple ■are Americans. If accused are to bo brought back Kohns' trustees will have to pay the cost of their return journey, and there is also the question of extradition. It is yet undecided what 6teps the authorities will take.
