THE POPULATION.
MORE CENSUS RETURNS. OAUTION IN COMPARISONS ADVISABLE. The Minister for Internal Affairs (Hon. D.. Buddo) has received sonjo interim census returns from the Government statistician. These havo been prepared, showing the figures for the previous census of 1906, but the Minister states that the Department simply takes the actual boundaries existing at the time of tho census, and does not -attempt to make accurate comparisons which take into consideration tho changes in boundaries of local governing areas.
